刘明教授现任西安交通大学研究生院副院长,国家人才计划特聘教授,电子科学与工程学院腾飞特聘教授,陕西省“百人计划”,陕西省科技创新团队(带头人),陕西省高校青年创新团队(带头人)。担任电子陶瓷与器件教育部重点实验室副主任,磁电耦合功能材料与器件研究中心主任,西安交通大学研究生院副院长,西安市政协委员。

主要围绕先进电子材料与器件及集成电路专用芯片等领域关键问题开展研究,研究方向包括自旋信息存储材料与集成电路、电量传感芯片与信号调理电路、功能氧化物柔性电子材料与器件、磁性与半导体材料及器件等领域。以第一/通讯作者在‍Science, Adv.Mater., Nat. Commun.等国际知名期刊发表论文 140 余篇,发表在Science的工作引起广泛关注,并被《中国科学》头版报道;应Wiley出版社邀请,编写英文专著一部;申请/授权发明专利 50余项;主持国家重点研发计划课题、国家自然科学基金重点、重大预研等国家级项目10余项。

担任5个SCI期刊编委;任中国电子学会空间电子分会常务委员,机械工程学会微纳制造分会常务理事,中国物理学会青年工作委员会委员,中国金属学会功能材料分会委员等。任2021,2020,2018年 IEEE 国际磁学会议组委会成员、分会召集人及分会主席;第58,59,61届国际磁学与磁性材料会议分会召集人及分会主席。
