1981年西安交通大学本科毕业,获工学学士学位;
1984年西安交通大学硕士毕业,获工学硕士学位;
1991年哈尔滨工业大学毕业,获工学博士学位。
1997年英国国家物理实验室访问学者;
2000年德国Karlsruhe大学及FZK访问学者;
2003年日本庆应大学访问教授;
2005-2010年中国矿业大学特聘教授;
2010-2014年华侨大学厦门工学院院长。

荷兰Elsevier Group PLC.出版集团Wear杂志编委;美国John Wiley & Sons, Inc.出版集团Lubrication Science杂志编委;摩擦学学报杂志编委。机械工程学会摩擦学分会委员;机械工程学会高级会员。1997年获教育部科技进步三等奖; 2003年获陕西省科技进步二等奖;2001年获国家级教学成果二等奖。2000年教育部青年骨干教师获得者;2000年王宽诚教育基金会育才奖获得者;2006年西安交通大学国尾武青年科技奖获得者;中国科学院兰州化学物理研究所优秀科技工作者及机械工程学会先进组织工作奖。撰写国家级优秀教材一本,国家规划教材两本。截止2015年发表SCI收录论文81篇(H-Index 13,他引文献472篇)。
